What is the Tokai Welcome Card?
The Tokai Welcome Card is a discount card created only for use by foreign visitors to this area. It is our hope that this service will help further international relations and increase overseas visitors understanding of Japan while making visits here more enjoyable.
This card is the first of its kind in Japan and we are very pleased to be able to offer this service. Please take advantage of this invaluable opportunity!

What is it intended for?
It is intended for use at facilities in Aichi, Gifu, Mie and Shizuoka Prefectures and Nagoya City that are participating in this program. Specifically, lodging facilities, restaurants and shops, tourist facilities and transportation organizations. Such organizations are extending you a slight discount or complimentary service to increase your travel pleasure.

What does it do?
The card serves two functions, as a discount coupon and a fun ecard (electronic greeting card).

Where can I get it?
The Tokai Welcome discount card is available on this site. As you look through the search sections of "Japan's Heartland" you will find hundreds of facilities that have registered with the program. By clicking on the "Welcome Card" or the "Get the Tokai Welcome Card" button, a flash version of the card will come up. (For those people who do not have FlashPlayer5, you may get a free version of flash by clicking on the corresponding button.) After the card stops moving, you can fill in the corresponding boxes and print out a copy of the Tokai Welcome card.

How to get the Tokai Welcome Card and ecard
Click on the "Get the Tokai Welcome Card" button and choose "print", fill it out, then print it out from the comfort of your home printer (or any printer for that matter) and bring it with you when you come to Japan. By presenting it to facilities participating in this program, overseas visitors may receive a discount or complimentary gift/service.
To send it as an ecard, simply click on the "send" button, fill in the corresponding boxes, pick a photo from various sightseeing spots in the Tokai region, preview the ecard and send it! This service is 100% FREE and anyone, anywhere can send it!

Where can I use it?
Overseas visitors may use the Tokai Welcome Card at shops and facilities that display the card inside or on windows/ doors. Please be aware that only such shops and facilities will accept the Tokai Welcome Card. When you visit such shops and facilities, please be sure to have your Tokai Welcome Card on hand and present it to staff to insure smooth transactions. Please show it before use, making payment or checking into lodging facilities. In some cases you may be asked to show your passport.
