Toyohashi City Futagawa Shuku Honjin Museum
Honjin, which was a licensed inn in the late Edo period, has been restored and is now used as a museum. Futagawa Shuku was the 33rd stop on the Tokaido road between old Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto, the national capital. The museum houses displays on three themes: Futagawa Shuku, the Tokaido road and Honjin.

Setomono Festival
Started in 1932, the festival commemorates Tamikichi Kato, the founder of pottery. It is held on the second Saturday and Sunday in September each year. The highlight of the festival is the discounted ceramic market made up of about 250 stores, all lined up along the Seto River.

Matsudaira-go
Matsudaira Village is located in the eastern part of Toyota city. The Matsudaira Family, ancestors of Ieyasu Tokugawa, originated from this village. There are many historical sites relating to the Matsudaira Family, such as the Matsudaira Toshogu Shrine and Kogetsuin Temple.

Noborigama
Noborigama is a 22-meter long kiln that was designated as an important cultural asset. This kiln was in use up until 1973 when it still produced pots and other pottery.

Utsumi Beach
This long, shallow sandy beach attracts many tourists during the summer months.

Sanshu Asuke Yashiki
In Asuke Yashiki, thatched houses and storehouses are reproduced in an area of about 3,000m2. Visitors can enjoy the atmosphere of everyday village life in the olden days through demonstrations of papermaking, umbrella making, weaving and charcoal making.





Okazaki Castle
Okazaki Castle is an important symbol of Okazaki. Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa, the founder of the Edo Government, was born in the original castle on December 26,1542.

Canal and Storehouses
Thanks to natural resources, the brewery business in this area has prospered since the Edo era (also known as the Genroku period). Many storehouses that housed sake, vinegar, fermented soy paste, and a thick soy sauce, still can be found lined up along the canal.

Takeshima
Takeshima is a small island in Mikawa Bay and is a well known symbol of Gamagori. Connected to the mainland by the 387-meter long Takeshima Bridge, the island is awash with 238 different aromas orginating from a wide variety of evergreen trees and is designated as a natural national monument.

Inuyama Castle (also called as Hakuteijo)
Inuyama Castle, which stands on the southern bank of the Kiso River, was constructed about 460 years ago. The castle is famous for being the oldest existing original castle in Japan and has been designated as a national treasure. Visitors can climb the narrow stairs to the top floor, walk around the deck and enjoy a panoramic view of the area.

Toyota Automobile Museum
The museum is dedicated to the history of the automobile. Stretching back 100 years, the automobile was created in the beginning of the 20th century. Focusing on passenger cars, the exhibition displays cars from various countries and time periods in a systematic and comprehensive manner. The automobiles on display are all carefully maintained and are in working condition.
